A therapist patient starts telling his clients what he thinks
By ignoring his training and ethics, he finds he’s making a huge difference in people’s lives, including his own. The cast of “Downsizing” shares key moments that defined their characters in the first season and reveals who did the best job impersonating Harrison Ford. When Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel and Bill Lawrence were asked how they got Harrison Ford on the show, Segel said that Goldstein originally wanted a “Harrison Ford type” and would audition people who looked like Ford. Segel told Goldstein that they should have introduced him to Ford first, thinking he would immediately turn it down, but at least other people would hear that Harrison Ford had gotten the job, which would spark interest from other big-name actors.
Jason Segel is perfect for this script
Eventually, Goldstein spoke to Ford and convinced him to take the role. Goldstein still doesn’t understand what he did to convince him, but he was thrilled nonetheless. Featured in WatchMojo: Top 10 Best TV Shows of 2023 (So Far) (2023). And the rest of the show is great, too.
And Jessica is perfect
He has a weird, idiotically confident energy for the role. Her humor is right on target with the dialogue. It’s a new take on situation dramas. No real jokes, just likable personalities with a touch of whimsy and family circumstances that are a little off the beaten path but still relevant.
It’s just impossible
Of course, Jimmy’s therapist-like behavior is completely absurd. You’ll lose your license right away. But we allow metaphorical situations in drama. And in this script, we sense a strong sense of purpose in the decisions.
It’s easy and fun for me
We have to give the writers the edge and try to capture the essence. Other reviewers seem to have struggled.
