Dark design
The dark theme of IDM displays dark interfaces on most of the interface. It is designed as a complementary mode to the standard theme (or light theme). A dark theme reduces the brightness emitted by your screen while meeting minimum color contrast ratios. It helps improve visual ergonomics by reducing eye strain, adjusting brightness to current lighting conditions and making it easier to use the screen in dark environments while saving energy.
Dynamic segmentation
Internet Download Manager has an optimized file download logic. IDM dynamically divides downloaded files into file segments, unlike other download accelerators that divide downloaded files into segments once just before the download process begins. Dynamic segmentation significantly improves download performance. When the file download starts, it is unclear how many connections can be opened. When a new connection becomes available, IDM finds the largest segment to download and splits it in half. So the new connection starts downloading the file from half of the largest segment of the file. IDM reduces the time it takes to negotiate with servers and keeps all connections busy.
