Genevieve lives the life of a shy and neurotic book editor, shunning colleagues and striving to become the next ghostwriter for her publisher’s most popular series of crime novels. But no one, not even her therapist, knows that Genevieve is secretly struggling with dissociative identity disorder (DID). Although her life at home and in public is a constant struggle to avoid any stress that might cause her to dissociate, the series and its haphazard portrayal of DRL begin to trouble Genevieve as she is flooded with flashes of memories she had no part in creating. Nervous about how dangerous she and her alter “Stevie” could be, she discovers clues to the horrors they may have been involved in. Coming dangerously close to the secrets of her past, Genevieve plunges into terrifying hallucinations, approaching the source of her trauma and the answer to the question she’s always been afraid to ask: what happened to Genevieve?
