Narrative

The family is invited to spend the entire weekend at a remote home in the countryside, but as the weekend progresses, they realize that the family that invited them has a dark side. Who would have thought that a studio would save an American remake that is barely two years old – and already 80% is in English? But here we are. This version is infinitely better, less frustrating and, dare I say it, actually more satisfying.

The biggest improvement?

James McAvoy – what a force. Honestly, put this guy in every horror movie from now on, especially if he’s the villain. He’s so good at it, you can almost hear him whisper, “Watch me steal all the scenes.” And of course it does. Every. Time.Speak No Evil is one of the best horror movies of the year in my opinion. Characters who really deserve to be cheered on.

Okay, okay, they’re a little dumb in the first trimester, but at least you wise up before you lose all hope but one person. Blumhouse, bow down – you finally did something right!. The final season of “What We Do in the Shadows” is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.

When Rain shuts down the ship’s gravity and shoots all the aliens, all their blood floats in the air in long, smeared patterns. Zero gravity in real life causes liquids to form into spherical shapes rather than spread out into long, flat pieces like in the movie.. Andy: The solution for a claustrophobic astronaut is to give him more space.. 20th Century Studio Fanfare Freezes and becomes ominous, as in Alien 3 (1992), leading into the opening scene of the film.

Featured in Nerdrotic: The Acolyte: Force is Female CONFIRMED? Death of Cinema – Real BBC @MauLer @HeelvsBabyface (2024). Nothing special, a lot of really positive reviews are overblown. The characters are mostly completely bland and devoid of any real character, except for Andy.

As a huge fan of the original, I left disappointed

I honestly had no emotional attachment to most of the characters and most of them were just boring and fat. The film was tasteless at times, seemed to take a long time to get going, and relied heavily on Alien franchise clichés to add any real color to the plot and screenplay. The special effects were good enough and the design of the original xenomorph was excellent, although the face huggers look worse in this movie than in Alien and Aliens for some reason. I’m not too excited about the current hype surrounding Romulus, it’s not a terrible movie but it’s not great either.

Whether they’re exploring the stars, escaping dystopias, or making the world a better place, these women are what science fiction is all about

Can despicable propaganda be great art?

Narrative

Explores Leni Riefenstahl’s artistic legacy and her complex ties to the Nazi regime, juxtaposing her self-portrait with evidence of awareness of the regime’s atrocities. This question always arises when talking about the work of the German director Leni Riefenstahl. Admired as one of the greatest German directors of all time (for example, Quentin Tarantino), he is also despised for glamorizing the Third Reich. Riefenstahl herself always denied that she was a Nazi.

He thought he was an artist who worked for Hitler

In interviews, he always emphasized that he did not know about the atrocities of the regime. After his death in 2003, this self-created image was quickly destroyed. The stark contrast between her own statements and historical facts has already become the subject of a recent television documentary Riefenstahl – the end of the myth and is further explored in the documentary Riefenstahl 39. Director Andres Weyel has carefully combed through all his work; things in search of letters, clippings from newspapers and official documents to compare the word Riefenstahl with reality.

But at the same time, it is very interesting to see how his huge ego and fearless ambitions helped shape his place in the history of cinema. In response to questions at the Ghent Film Festival, Weyel said that initially she wanted to create an avatar of Riefenstahl in her film, an alternative Leni, created on the basis of personal letters and diary entries from her belongings. But in the end, the material itself turned out to be so clear that it could speak for itself. There is no doubt that Riefenstahl had a deep sympathy for the Nazi movement and admired it.

The film contains a treasure trove of historical material

Weil convincingly shows that his own worldview fully corresponded to the Nazi ideology. The shot of the television interview, made with the cameras turned on during the break in the interview, is very telling. Riefenstahl repeatedly became angry when asked about her responsibility as an artist and her participation in the Nazi movement. But Riefenstahl’s taped telephone conversations with many of her admirers are even more revealing.

Andres Veyel himself considers his film a lesson for today

Whenever his creative integrity was questioned, he received letters of support and phone calls expressing sympathy. Many Germans agreed that resisting the Nazi movement in the 1930s was very difficult and that Hitler’s passive supporters were condemned too harshly. Riefenstahl’s ability to recreate his own image and change the past in his favor is similar to the fake news created by populists like Donald Trump.
